Who would have thought that the history of cleanliness is so messy? Our obsession with dirt has the potential to make us sick.
In the 17th century the thought of a daily shower filled a Frenchman with fear. Wouldn’t it practically be asking to get sick by splashing away, opening our pores and leaving the body so vulnerable and inviting all these diseases? Well, the filthy, stinking truth is that today, the Frenchman would have been disgusted with our daily bathing habits.
Cleanliness has changed a lot in the West and considering our relative lack of physical efforts which I compare here with our ancestors, from public baths to today’s obsession with hand sanitizers down to teeth whitening strips, why do we really consider our daily shower an ideal anyway? Haven’t you heard before ‘the less we sweat, the more we clean’?

When you have love, ALL things are possible! After all, what is it that cannot be accomplished by the power of love? Joy and peace, success and wisdom - love is the only power that makes it real for you.
Love is the only thing that gives us the strength to go beyond what it is we normally do. Love gives us the ability to make sacrifices for something other than selfish reasons. Love gives us the courage to be persistent in the face of tremendous odds. Love gives us the wish to be better and kinder as well as more true human beings.
By finding the endless source of love, a love we could call upon at any time when we needed it, we would own the power of powers. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise, this love really exists and we can hope to find such love within ourselves.
The type of love that transcends the love we know to date exists and that higher level of love doesn’t fade away, even when time passes.
Love doesn’t betray, it is always there and it is just waiting to awaken us to its presence within our own hearts.
Love is the way - whether we are seeking a more loving relationship, more interesting days at work, finding the courage to be bold and say what it is you mean, or just simply the pleasure of a quiet mind.
Don’t we all look for love? In relationships and careers as well as our hobbies. We may feel more fortunate than most. We may have been able to fulfill our greatest passions, and that feeling follows us everywhere. It won’t go away, no matter where we go, no matter what we are doing - but we also know that there is a feeling as if there is something missing.
We have little reason for this empty feeling, for this empty space that frustrates us and our hopes to find real, true and lasting fulfilment.
It is love itself telling us there is more to it when we feel dissatisfaction. Love’s secret ways of calling us beckoning us to work on our own unsolved deep mystery. I find that all of our present loves become more fulfilling and we notice a very rare and quiet beauty in areas we didn’t expect. I feel that we become a source of love that touches and warms the people around us. Love reveals the good things in all things and we can never turn bitter again.
Don’t hang around wasting your time thinking about how many times love has “failed” you in the past. Stop counting the times that you have been hurt and how many times you have felt your idea of love fade away. Focus on the timeless love you have always desired, as it awaits you. We need to learn the facts of love so that love becomes a fact in your life.
Isn’t true love what we all desire? Deep down in our hearts, love is the answer to all of our questions, our needs and every single longing we have ever experienced.

The old fashioned law that made it illegal for Texas to sell (therefore also buy) sex toys for sexual purposes was struck down just about two weeks ago by the federal appeals court.
To own a ‘collection’ of more than six ‘devices’ wasn’t allowed, as it was considered ‘promotion’. If you were to enjoy a dildo on a Monday… a vibrator on a Tuesday… a G-spotter on a Wednesday etc, you were screwed, or should that read you weren’t screwed?
Because of fear of being in trouble with ‘Big Brother’, some time ago a sex shop owner had a legal document drafted up by his lawyers, which was signed by his customers stating that the dildos his customers bought would only be used for educational purposes.
You know, at one of these kind of (Tupperware style) sex toy parties, where the host (Baptist mother of three) was selling martial aids to married couples was arrested in 2003 by two undercover cops. They were ‘posing’ to be married, apparently looking to ‘spice‘ up their love life. Well, the host was lucky, as the charges were dropped in the end! Still, aren’t we living in the 21st century?
In Texas lawmakers finally worked that out. They have reasoned that the Supreme Court case ‘Lawrence and Garner v. Texas’, were granted the right to engage in whatever sex act their hearts desired as long as it was behind closed doors and of course, ’mutual consent’. And we are talking about two adults of the same sex here. Wouldn’t it only be to ‘fair’ that the same ‘rules’ should be applied to people using sex toys behind closed doors as well and to stop trying to control people‘s behaviour?
I have something interesting for you to think about.
It’s about dating and relationship horror stories. Have you, or maybe women you know, had any, or even lots of them? Have you noticed if some of the same negative and/or limiting situations repeat themselves with different men?
Some examples:
= Have you ever experienced that a few dates with a man gone great, but after you have been ‘physical’ he has not called again?
= The closer you get physical and emotional to a man, the more distant he gets… maybe even scared before he finally pulls away?
= Shortly in to the relationship the connection fades away. The chemistry just disappears - and so does the man?
The same kinds of situations pop up over and over again for some women with different men. Why do some women attract the same kind of men in to their lives?
These are simply common situations with men. That’s the reality. BUT what about the women who end up in great relationships? Why don’t these situations happen to them and they have it so much easier with their partner?
The men they are with aren’t much different from other men. Of course, there are always the extreme examples such as players, the emotionally unhealthy or abusive men and so on… clearly, some men are better ‘relationship material’ than others. Yes, I mean the “good guys” that you meet and as soon as you meet them, you quickly know they’re ‘quality’ people. I guess that is part of the reason that it can be such a shock as well as upsetting when guys like this start performing and acting out some of these common negative male behaviours.
These negative situations as well as the behaviours do come up for most women… Yes, even women where you think that they are having close and loving relationships with great guys. There’s no “immunity” from the common male issues, situations and behaviours. Still, from what I hear there are lots of women who still end up in great relationships with men regardless of all the male behaviours that tear other couples apart.
I bet you wonder what the difference is.
The difference is in HOW women respond!
I am not trying to help men be lazy partners here, or get away with bad behaviour. And I am not saying that women should just accept it all and that men are excused from taking responsibility. What I am saying is that ‘smart’ women KNOW how to handle common challenges and issues that men confront them with. Where on the other hand women get absolutely preoccupied and overpowered emotionally by the same things, setting off total turmoil which quite often shows that it is the beginning of the end.
