Jul 11 - Chilean professional Pole dancer and stripper Monserrat Morilles (26) on a political inquest.

For a whole week Morilles is trying to challenge the prudishness of society. I could think of some better ways, but I suppose that’s one way of doing it. She sure got some attention from the commuters in her skimpy underwear, but I don’t think that everyone in Santiago’s Subway agreed.

I am trying to sell a bed frame I recently purchased. I ordered it over the Internet - it was a bit of an impulse buy. Now that it’s arrived, I realize that it doesn’t go with any of my other oak furniture. I can’t send it back. The bed frame is 100% hand carved and imported from India . The mattress is orthopedic, brand new, and hasn’t been slept on.

I thought I would give you first dibs, since it would go so nicely with the items that currently makeup your bedroom motif.

But if you know of anyone else who might be interested please forward this, as I’d like to sell it ASAP.

We Really Can’t Win!

A woman was shaking out a rug on the balcony of her 17th floor condominium when a sudden gust of wind blew her over the railing. “Damn, that was stupid,” she thought as she fell. “What a way to die.”

As she passed the 14th floor, a man standing at his railing caught her in his arms.
While she looked at him in disbelieving gratitude, he asked, “Do you suck?”
“No!” she shrieked, aghast.
So, he dropped her.

As she passed the 12th floor, another man reached out and caught her. “Do you screw?” he asked.
“Of course not!” she exclaimed before she could stop herself.
He dropped her, too.

The poor woman prayed to God for one more chance. As luck would have it, she was caught a third time, by a man on the eighth floor. “I suck! I screw!” she screamed in panic.
“Slut!” he said, and dropped her.

Sex in Exchange for 25 Gallons of Petrol

Some of us may remember the times we spend listening to our grandparent’s stories of being deprived during the ‘Great Depression’. They were worried for us and hoping that we would never have similar experiences. Well, it looks like as we are all able to tell our grandchildren about the times when oil prices went so over the top that some women even traded their ‘virtues’ as a necessity in order to tank up.

On July 2nd, a Kentucky woman faced charges for allegedly ‘providing’ sex in exchange for petrol to a customer at a petrol station according to ‘The Smoking Gun‘.

Doesn’t that make you wonder what’s next with prices going up? Maybe we will soon see women ‘done up’ walking the isles of supermarkets offering their ‘services’ for a bit of fish, vegetables or a bit of fruit? If more stories like this pop up, we will be in for a bit more than ‘just’ the ‘Great Depression’.

Cleanliness - A Matter of Appearance or Hygiene?

Who would have thought that the history of cleanliness is so messy? Our obsession with dirt has the potential to make us sick.

In the 17th century the thought of a daily shower filled a Frenchman with fear. Wouldn’t it practically be asking to get sick by splashing away, opening our pores and leaving the body so vulnerable and inviting all these diseases? Well, the filthy, stinking truth is that today, the Frenchman would have been disgusted with our daily bathing habits.

Cleanliness has changed a lot in the West and considering our relative lack of physical efforts which I compare here with our ancestors, from public baths to today’s obsession with hand sanitizers down to teeth whitening strips, why do we really consider our daily shower an ideal anyway? Haven’t you heard before ‘the less we sweat, the more we clean’?

Flowers, where do they come from?

When you buy flowers, do you actually ever think about where they come from?

Flowers have a ‘dark’ history. £ 2.2.billion are spend on flowers each year. An abundance of high quality, cheap flowers that are found in our supermarkets are mainly grown in East Africa by female workers. They are pressurised to meet the UK’s demand. Forced to overtime, sexual harassment and low pay.

The below animated film takes a looks at where the flowers are grown and where they come from. The film also shows the effects the industry is having on the environment as well as the workers.

Workers are often exposed to highly toxic pesticides and chemicals to increase productivity.
