Sex Toys Finally Made Legal in Texas

The old fashioned law that made it illegal for Texas to sell (therefore also buy) sex toys for sexual purposes was struck down just about two weeks ago by the federal appeals court.

To own a ‘collection’ of more than six ‘devices’ wasn’t allowed, as it was considered ‘promotion’. If you were to enjoy a dildo on a Monday… a vibrator on a Tuesday… a G-spotter on a Wednesday etc, you were screwed, or should that read you weren’t screwed?

Because of fear of being in trouble with ‘Big Brother’, some time ago a sex shop owner had a legal document drafted up by his lawyers, which was signed by his customers stating that the dildos his customers bought would only be used for educational purposes.

You know, at one of these kind of (Tupperware style) sex toy parties, where the host (Baptist mother of three) was selling martial aids to married couples was arrested in 2003 by two undercover cops. They were ‘posing’ to be married, apparently looking to ‘spice‘ up their love life. Well, the host was lucky, as the charges were dropped in the end! Still, aren’t we living in the 21st century?

In Texas lawmakers finally worked that out. They have reasoned that the Supreme Court case ‘Lawrence and Garner v. Texas’, were granted the right to engage in whatever sex act their hearts desired as long as it was behind closed doors and of course, ’mutual consent’. And we are talking about two adults of the same sex here. Wouldn’t it only be to ‘fair’ that the same ‘rules’ should be applied to people using sex toys behind closed doors as well and to stop trying to control people‘s behaviour?
