Just Five More Minutes

While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a bench near a playground.
“That’s my son over there,” she said, pointing to a little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down the slide.
“He’s a fine looking boy” the man said. “That’s my daughter on the bike in the white dress.”
Then, looking at his watch, he called to his daughter. “What do you say we go, Melissa?”
Melissa pleaded, “Just five more minutes, Dad. Please? Just five more minutes.”
The man nodded and Melissa continued to ride her bike to her heart’s content. Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his daughter. “Time to go now?”
Again Melissa pleaded, “Five more minutes, Dad. Just five more minutes.”
The man smiled and said, “OK.”
“My, you certainly are a patient father,” the woman responded.
The man smiled and then said, “Her older brother Tommy was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent much time with Tommy and now I’d give anything for just five more minutes with him. I’ve vowed not to make the same mistake with Melissa.
She thinks she has five more minutes to ride her bike. The truth is, I get Five more minutes to watch her play.”

I’ve had an e-mail today of Jonathon asking me to add the link of the www.lawofattractionsingles.com website and thought it may be a good idea. It looks like a pretty good site to me to make friends or even find the love of your life.
I was just going to add one thing. If you are sure and serious about meeting someone and having fun in doing so, than it may be an idea of adding a photo to your profile. Of course, a smiling one J It is easy to do and as you can imagine, members with photos get better responses as it is an easy way of showing prospective ‘mates’ your character as well as your personality. Not to mention that adding a picture creates a higher level of trust and kind of shows that you are serious and committed.
I know that some are worried about there ‘appearance’. But don’t worry, there is someone out there for everyone. We are all unique. We are all special and beautiful. People are attracted to a variety of characteristics. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Personal Thoughts:
It doesn’t happen very often that we think about the effect that our words have upon others. The words we speak have power and everything that we say has a positive or negative impact on others around us.
As a word, love is small and it is also simple and unassuming.
When we place intention and action behind the word love, love becomes very powerful. Love becomes magical. And love becomes one of life’s greatest motivators.
What do you really know about love?
We have love for the once that are closest to us, like partners, family and friends. We can give love to others. We can give love to life. We can give love to the world around us.
A lot of the things we do and try to accomplish in our life is motivated by love. We desire a loving partner and a loving family as well as loving friends. Our aim is to love and to be loved. We hope to build a life we love and quite often, we are moved to make choices out of love for someone or something.
Some people regard love as complex, painful and difficult. But all we need to do is love unconditionally and with truth and it becomes the easiest thing in the world.
We can only love unconditionally when we first love ourselves and accept who we are. When your love is true love, which is pure and unconditional it becomes the magical essence that changes lives.
Love drives our evolution. It gives purpose and meaning to the communication and interaction of one soul to another.
When you are secure and emotionally rooted in happiness it allows you to love and be loved in the fullest way possible.
Let Go and step out of the self that is needy, insecure, fearful and feeling unloved in order to let love in to your life.
Become and be the love you wish to see in the world.

There is a risk involved in everything
Every time you share a smile
Every time you shed a tear
You are opening yourself up to hurt.
Some people tread slowly through life,
Avoiding the closeness risk brings,
Side-stepping the things they can’t understand
Turning away from those who care too much,
Those who care stay too long,
Those who hold too tightly.
There is never an easy way to love
You can not approach it cautiously
It will not wait for you to arm yourself.
It does not care if you turn away
It is everywhere, it is everything.
Love is the greatest of all risks.
It is not reliable, it is not cautious,
It is not sympathetic
It is unprejudiced and unmerciliess.
It strikes the strongest of mind,
And brings them to their knees in one blow.
Even in the best of times, love hurts.
It hurts to need, it hurts to belong,
It hurts to be the other part of someone else,
Without either of your consent.
But, from the moment it overtakes you,
It hurts worse to be all alone.
The risk of love never depletes;
It grows stronger and more dangerous with time.
But, it’s in the total surrender of all defense,
That we, no matter weak or strong,
No matter willing or captive,
No matter what, we truly experience love.
Despite the many things love is not,
Outweighing it all are the things that love is.
Love is surrender without a loss.
It is a gift without the cost.
It consumes your every thought & desire,
Every breath you take.
It is the fire that fuels you
To do more than pass through life;
It urges you, instead, to live.
No matter the outcome, having felt love,
You will never be the same.
It may scar your heart & soul
And Leave you only memories of forever.
Or, it may cause every day of your life
To feel like there is no need for tomorrow.
But, love is worth it. It is worth the risk…
For in all of life,
Love is truly the only risk worth taking.
